out to the Onalaska Aquatic Center today.

There is endless competition for our recreation time and dollars. Recreational parks come in all shapes and none are so varied as the local Onalaska WI aquatic center. They can range in size from a small family Onalaska Wisconsin aquatic center that can cover 2 to 3 acres to a large commercial water park that can span 10 to 40 acres. Regardless of size, an Onalaska WI aquatic center must contain at least one primary element…water. The primary purpose of an Onalaska Wisconsin aquatic center is to promote and provide water activities of varying types.

The 6th annual "Diggity Dog Dip" was at the Onalaska Aquatic Center.

The Diggity Dog Dip is Saturday, September 5th at the Onalaska Aquatic Center at Van Riper Park from 10am-2pm. This is a fundraiser for the La Crescent Animal Rescue and the Onalaska Park and Rec Department. We want to aid those rescues that get little or no regular funding, so they can help great animals become wonderful members of a family. The Dip also aids in the maintenance of the dog exercise area right behind the pool in Onalaska.

Onalaska Aquatic Center goes to the dogs

Onalaska's second largest annual event brought more than 300 dogs and about 1,000 dog lovers to the Onalaska Aquatic Center for the Diggity Dog Dip on Saturday.

It's the 9th year for the event put on by Diggity Dog Daycare.

Dogs of every size and breed splashed around in the water, jumped off the doggy board, and enjoyed doggy treats.

All the proceeds from the event go back to the Onalaska Parks and Recreation Department and La Crescent Animal Rescue. They raised around $4,000.

"The enjoyment and the pride I take away from this, aside from helping a good cause, is these guys," explained Diggity Dog Dip Creator Pat Kucera. "The smiles on their faces, the fun that they're having, and the parents being able to watch them knowing that they're having the time of their lives."

WXOW Daybreak Co-Anchor Brittany Lake brought her dogs Winnie and Mya to the big event.

Although organizers wouldn't give any details, Diggity Dog Dip plans to come back again for a 10th year and make an even bigger splash.

The Onalaska Aquatic Center will be open Monday and Tuesday night to help kids and families beat the extreme heat.
